This Privacy Policy explains how AutoPulse Inc., doing business as LA Auto Pulse (“LA Auto Pulse”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses and protects your information when you visit laautopulse.com or book our mobile car battery replacement service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: your name, mobile phone number and email address.
- Vehicle details: year, make, model and engine, so we can bring the right battery.
- Service details: the ZIP code and address where your vehicle is, any access notes, and the day and time you choose.
- Your choices: the battery you select, and whether you agreed to our Terms and to receive text messages, with the date and time you agreed.
- Account details: if you create an account, your email address and password. Passwords are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form that no one at LA Auto Pulse can read.
We save booking details as you go through the booking steps, so you can continue where you left off. This means we may keep details from a booking you started but did not finish.
Payment information
Card payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. Your card number and security code go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. We keep only the card brand (for example, Visa), its last four digits and the payment status, so we can tell you which card is charged. Your card is saved with Stripe, with your permission, to charge the remaining balance after your service, as described in our Terms and Conditions. Stripe's use of your information is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data: like most websites, our servers receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, which we use to keep the site running and secure.
- Cookies and browser storage: see section 6.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- to check that we serve your area and show you batteries that fit your vehicle,
- to schedule your appointment and send a technician to your location,
- to take your deposit and charge the remaining balance after the service,
- to contact you about your booking by phone, email or text message,
- to follow up by email on a booking you started but did not finish, which you can unsubscribe from,
- to manage your account and keep it secure,
- to understand how our booking process is used and improve our service, and
- to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements and handle disputes.
3. Text Messages (SMS)
When you book online, you agree to receive text messages about your booking, such as confirmations, reminders, technician arrival updates and payment notices. We use your mobile number only for these service messages, never for marketing. Our technicians rely on them to reach your appointment, so this agreement is required to book online. If you prefer not to receive text messages, you can book by phone instead: consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. Messages are delivered through our text message provider, Twilio.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages; we will then contact you about your booking by phone or email instead. Reply HELP for help.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share information only as needed to provide our service:
- Our technicians, who see the details they need for your appointment: your name, phone number, address, vehicle and battery.
- Service providers that work for us under their own privacy and security terms: Stripe (payments), Google (address search and maps), our website and database hosting provider, our email provider and Twilio (text message delivery), which receives your mobile number only to deliver our service messages.
- When required by law, for example to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
- If our business changes hands, for example in a sale or merger, your information may be transferred to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
5. Address Search and Maps
When you type your address on our booking page, the text you type is sent to Google to suggest matching addresses. Our home page also shows a Google map of our service area. Google's use of this information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and the map may set its own cookies.
6. Cookies and Browser Storage
- Sign-in cookie: if you log in, a secure cookie keeps you signed in. It is needed for your account to work.
- Booking progress: your browser keeps your booking steps for the current tab, so a page refresh does not lose them. It is cleared when you close the tab.
- Screen preferences: for staff, the browser remembers small display settings, such as whether the side menu is open.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but signing in will not work without the sign-in cookie. Our site does not change its behavior in response to “Do Not Track” browser signals, because we do not track you across other websites.
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep booking, job and payment records for as long as needed to provide our service, honor battery warranties and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Details from bookings that were not completed are kept for a shorter time and used only as described above. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
8. How We Protect Your Information
Our website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to customer information is limited to staff who need it, and each staff member has their own login. Card details are handled by Stripe, a certified payment processor. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and fix any issue quickly.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: you can ask what information we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete your information. We may keep records we must keep by law, such as payment records.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them.
- Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email.
California residents may have additional rights under California law, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, and the right not to be treated differently for using these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it.
10. Children
Our services are for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at laautopulse.com/privacy, with the date it was last updated. If we make an important change, we will make it clear on this page.
